Many of us surely have heard about high alkaline diet. This kind of diet has been proven effective and beneficial. You have to have this kind of diet if you want to boost your immune system, resulting in a healthy lifestyle.
An alkaline diet is a kind of diet where you should be able to consume much more alkaline foods rather than acid foods. The alkaline to acid intake ratio must be 4:1. Alkaline foods are very easy to have and they are known to give more benefits to us.
Acid foods, on the other hand, are foods that we know are bad for our health. These include processed foods, red meat, dairy products and others. Foods containing omega 6 fats are bad for our health and they are considered acidic. This includes corn oil, sunflower oil and soybean oil.
We know that obtaining fats from meats is really not good. They cause high blood pressure and high cholesterol level. Fats and carbohydrates, when taken in large amount, are not good. Carbohydrates are broken down into sugar upon metabolism. When we eat foods with too much carbohydrate and we do not become active, the sugar will then be stored as fats.
These fats are the culprits to living an unhealthy lifestyle. They cause too many illnesses and obesity. Many Western people are having problems with excessive weight gain. This is an effect of them having more acid foods incorporated in their diets.
How can we maintain a healthy body?
• Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
We know that fruits and vegetables are good for us. Most of them are considered alkaline foods. Only few are not. Even those fruits and vegetables that are acid in their natural state are considered alkaline foods. Among them are lemons, lime and grapefruits.
Alkaline foods are those that when metabolized by the body produce alkaline ash and neutralize acid ash inside the body. A high alkaline diet is a key to not compromising our health. High acidity causes our bones and other joints to weaken because the acid takes away the calcium and other nutrients for neutralization.
So, we should have a high intake of alkaline forming foods. If we did, our health will be restored.
• Exercise regularly.
Daily exercise really helps a person to get energized and it helps the mind and body to function well. It also helps in the proper oxygen delivery throughout our body system. It also aids in proper digestion and promotes good eating habit.
• Drink enough water. It is much better if you drink alkaline water.
In addition to eating high alkaline diet, we should also drink plenty of water. But, we must know that it is better to have our water alkalized. This is what we call alkaline water. It is known to be good for our health.
