Student Life in College: How to Stay Healthy and Fit

College life consists of two aspects: academic life and campus life. It is not surprising that with its sleepless nights college life is very stressful. Everybody knows that stress is very damaging for health. That is why it is very important for students to be healthy and fit to reduce a negative effect of stress. Harmful habits If a student has bad habits, he/she should give them up as soon as possible. To stay out of troubles with his/her health, one should avoid doing the following things: • First of all, if a student is smoking, he/she should give it up as soon as possible. Everybody knows that smoking is very harmful. So, one should not poison his/her organism. • The second common bad habit is drinking alcohol. One should avoid drinking during studying. There are a lot of other ways to have fun. • In order to stay fit and healthy, do not eat fat food late at night. This will always harm figure and skin. • One more important point is sleepless nights. It is not advisable to stay up till late. This reduces concentration and may result in headaches. Useful habits Sticking to some simple rules while living on campus may help a student to stay healthy: • First of all, eat healthy food. Vegetables, fruit, dairy and grains are the best variants. One should try to avoid eating fast food. Be sure to balance the meal and eat different food every day. • One should also drink a lot of water. Fresh water with lemon keeps from thirst better than cola or soda. • Besides, do some sports. There are a lot of opportunities to develop student sporting skills in various college athletic teams. A student should take a chance and make sport part of his/her life. It may be football, basketball, athletics, swimming, biking, or fitness classes. Following these rules will help student enjoy good health and be active.
