Paleo Diet Recipes or Stone Age Diet Benefits

The Paleo Diet is over 10,000 years old. It is a diet from the Paleolithic Period or Stone Age period. Coined, Stone Age because stones was the technology of the day. The Caveman’s utilities and tools were made by stone. Stone was the tool makers. Stones can chip, cuts and carve. Wooden sharpened spears made by stone were used for hunting and protection. Wild animals once killed could be dismembers with carved and sharpened tools made of stone. The stone was the carving and cutting  tool on materials like  wood, animals, bones, sea shells and stones themselves.  During the Paleolithic period or Stone Ages caveman roamed in small groups. They were hunters and gatherers. Cavemen were constantly looking for food and shelter. The caveman’s diet: wild animals, fresh fish, poultry, fresh fruit and vegetables, raw bird eggs, nuts, herbs  and seeds. While trying to capture wild animals for food it was kill or be killed. Survival was never secure. The only technology was the stone.

Caveman only ate raw foods and potatoes, beans, peas and grain were not included in their diet. These foods contain toxin raw. Cooking these foods kills most of the toxins.  Fire has not been discovered during the Stone Age. The Paleolithic Period or Old-Stone Ages ended approximately 10,000 years ago. Fire was not discovered  until approximately 8,500 year ago during the Neolithic Period. Caveman did not drink animal’s milk because animals had not been domesticated.

Scientist discovered the Paleo Diet or Stone-Age Diet health benefits. The Paleo diet is an excellent nutritious diet. In today’s busy world with all of its advancements food is mass products. To optimize mass production foods are processed. These toxins have no health benefits.  Fast food restaurants are great but the food is processed. Foods cooked with vegetable oils (olive, almond and  coconut oil). Therefore, cooking oils are animal free. Processed sugar not used in diet. Natural  fruit sweetener or dab of honey or agave nectar used for cooking and baking. Honey and agave nectar are not 100% Paleo but used in small amounts many recipes. Paleo Diet Recipes: fresh meat, poultry and fish, fruits, vegetable, herbs, seeds and nuts. The diet is wheat free, dairy free and soy free. Highly nutritious with high  fiber and water contain.   Low fat and carbohydrate diet plan.

Low fat meats, fish and poultry included in Paleo Diet. Milks in Paleo Diet most commonly used are, almond, coconut or flax seed milk. The diet is dairy and lactose free. No wheat, grains or gluten in this diet. Going back to “Mother Nature” common flours and meals for cooking and baking are almond, coconut or flax seed flour/meal.

 

 Benefits of Foods in Paleo Diet:

– Fish is a good source of Omega-3 and Omega-6  and herring, tuna, sardines and salmon also containing unsaturated fats which reduces the risk of certain diseases.

Fresh fruits and vegetables provides roughage and fibers important in keeping the digestive system regular.

Leafy green vegetables, broccoli and peppers are full of beta-carotene.  Vegetables are fat free and low in calories. The nutrients in vegetables boost energy levels within the muscle cells. Consuming high levels of vegetables is a healthy way to lose weight and increase energy levels.Vegetable fats are unsaturated. Unsaturated fats are plant-based or vegetable oils. Unsaturated fats become liquefied at room temperature. Eating a diet high in saturated fats increases blood cholesterol levels. Unsaturated fats contribute to reduction in cholesterol blood levels.

The modern Paleo Recipes are not tasteless and bland. A healthy nutritious diet is fine but people want taste and flavor. Health nutritious diet but savory taste and flavor are not sacrificed.
